Sometimes your Bluetooth device will either disconnect, lose its sound or just start behaving badly, the 1st thing that springs to mind is that the headset or device is faulty, but 9 out of 10 times it is not, it is actually the mobile phone or the mobile phone settings that are to blame
Here are a few tips & tricks to cure the majority of connectivity problems
- Remove the battery from your mobile phone whilst the phone is switched on, this will cause your phone to crash. By switching your phone back on it will reboot the software on your phone.
- Remove listing details of all Bluetooth devices on your mobile phone.
- Switch your Bluetooth headset off and connect it back to the charger, this will reboot the headset.
- Switch your headset back on and put the device into pairing mode (normally by holding the on button for a period of 10-15 secs) but please check the manual as some headsets operate differently – esp. Sony Ericsson. Just switching your headset on is not good enough. THE HEADSET MUST GO INTO PAIRING MODE for your mobile phone to find the headset again.
- Your mobile phone will now ask for a password or pass key (normally 0000 or 1111 or 1234)
- Some mobile phones have 2 types of settings for Bluetooth - headset profile and handset profile, try altering the setting.
